Configure Non-Sapling Plants for Automatic Planting

Understand Plant Configuration

Saplanting Mod isn't limited to saplings—you can configure it to automatically plant other vegetation like seeds, mushrooms, or modded plants.

Locate the Plant Settings

Open your mod's configuration file and find the section for additional plants (separate from the saplings section). This section allows you to specify which plant items should auto-plant and on which blocks they can be placed.

Add Custom Plants

1. Identify the registry name of the plant item you want to auto-plant

2. Specify which block types it should plant on (e.g., dirt, grass, mycelium)

3. Save your configuration

4. Reload the game

Test Your Configuration

Drop the plant item on the appropriate block type. It should automatically convert to a planted block within the mod's standard planting time.

Adjust Block Compatibility

If a plant isn't planting on certain blocks, edit the configuration to add those block types to the plant's whitelist. Some plants may only work on specific soil types.
