Safe Zone Claims Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
I just joined the server and don't have a wand. How do I get one?
The wand is given to you automatically when you first log in to a server running this mod. If you don't see it in your inventory, check your inventory slots or ask a server admin to give you one with the appropriate command.
Can I claim land if I'm playing vanilla Minecraft without mods?
Yes, this mod is server-side only, so you can join and claim land using vanilla Minecraft. You'll receive the wand and see all claim boundaries without installing anything extra.
What's the difference between right-clicking and shift-clicking with the wand?
Right-click to mark corners of your claim or resize it later. Shift + left-click to open the menu where you can trust friends, delete claims, or manage your land.
How many claims can I make?
The number of claims you can create depends on the server's configuration, which the admin sets with the defaultMaxClaims setting. Ask your server owner how many claims are allowed.
I trusted my friend but they still can't break blocks in my claim. Why?
Make sure you used /claim trust and selected your friend from the menu that appeared. If they're still unable to build, ask a server admin to check if there's a permission issue or if the trust didn't save properly.
Can I make my claim bigger after I've already created it?
Yes, hold the wand and right-click one of the glowing corner blocks of your claim to resize it. You can adjust the boundaries by marking new corners.
Will my claim disappear if I don't log in for a while?
Only if the server admin has enabled claimExpiryDays in the configuration. If that setting is active, claims will be deleted after a player is offline for the number of days the admin set.
Does this mod protect my stuff from other mods or plugins?
This mod protects against TNT, creepers, fire, flowing water, and lava, and it works with server plugins like Axiom and WorldEdit to restrict big edits to claimed areas. Protection against other mods depends on what those mods do and how the server is configured.
Can an admin delete my claim or give it to someone else?
Yes, server admins have commands like /sz removeall and /sz transfer to manage claims. This is a server-side tool for admins to handle disputes or cleanup, so ask your admin if you need help.
Why can I see water or lava flowing into my claim from outside?
The mod blocks water and lava from flowing across your claim border, but if someone places it right at the edge, it may still seep in depending on the exact placement. Check the guide 'Troubleshoot Water and Lava Flowing Into Your Claim' for solutions, or ask an admin to check the server's fluid protection settings.
