How to Make Ruins Structures Spawn More or Less Often
Understand the Rarity Value
Each structure in Ruins has a rarity setting in its config entry. This value is weighted against every other eligible structure, so it controls the chance your structure is picked when the mod decides to place something. A higher number means it appears less often; a lower number means it appears more often.
Adjust Global Spawn Frequency
Beyond per-structure rarity, Ruins has global settings that govern how many placement attempts happen per chunk or region. Increasing the attempt count raises overall density; decreasing it thins things out. Combine both levers: use global settings for overall density and per-structure rarity to bias toward the ruins you actually want to see.
Apply Changes Correctly
Save your config edits and generate a new world to test. Existing chunks keep their original generation, so you won't see changes in a world you've already explored unless you travel to ungenerated terrain. If a structure still feels too common, raise its rarity and lower the global attempt count together, then regenerate and check a few biomes before settling on final values.
