How to Bookmark Items and Use Cheat Mode in REI

Bookmarking Items

Hover any item in the REI list and press the bookmark keybind to add it to the bookmark area on the left side of the screen. Bookmarks persist between sessions, so you can keep a personal shortlist of items you craft or look up constantly. To remove a bookmark, hover it and press the same key again, or open the bookmark panel and delete it from there. You can rearrange bookmarks by dragging them within the panel.

Enabling Cheat Mode

Cheat mode lets you pull items directly out of the REI list into your inventory. Open the REI config or settings menu using the button near the search bar, then toggle cheat mode on. In singleplayer you may also need cheats enabled for the world. Once active, you can click an item in the list to grab a stack, or shift-click to grab a single item.

Using Cheat Mode Responsibly

• Cheat mode is meant for testing, building, or creative-style play; it can trivialize survival.
• If you only want to look up recipes, leave cheat mode off so you do not grab items by accident.
• The settings menu also controls other display options, so explore it if the interface feels cluttered.

Quick Workflow

Bookmark your most-used crafting materials, then use cheat mode only when you need a one-off item for a test build.
