How to Improve Performance While Using rotrBLOCKS PBR
Why PBR Costs Frames
PBR and POM add extra texture maps and per-pixel work, so they hit the GPU harder than vanilla textures. The biggest costs come from parallax depth, high-resolution textures, and shader features layered on top. You can keep most of the look while recovering performance.
Settings to Tune
1. Lower the parallax or POM depth and quality in your shader options. Shallow depth still gives visible relief at a much lower cost.
2. Drop mipmap levels and anisotropic filtering one step at a time and watch your FPS.
3. If the pack offers multiple resolutions, switch to a lower one. The style stays the same; only sharpness changes.
4. Reduce shader features unrelated to PBR, such as heavy shadows or reflections, since they compound the cost.
5. Lower your render distance slightly. PBR detail is most expensive on distant surfaces.
6. Turn off any unused connected-texture or blending options if your client exposes them separately.
Testing Your Changes
Use F3 to watch your frame rate while standing in a detailed area, like a stone village or cave. Change one setting at a time and reload with F3+T. This makes it clear which option gave the biggest gain without ruining the pack's depth and detail.
