How to Enable PBR and POM for rotrBLOCKS in Your Minecraft Client

Why the Pack Looks Flat Without Extra Settings

rotrBLOCKS relies on Physically Based Rendering (PBR) and Parallax Occlusion Mapping (POM) to give blocks their depth and surface detail. Vanilla Minecraft cannot read these maps, so you need a client or mod that supports them, such as Iris, OptiFine, or a compatible shader loader. Without that support, the pack still loads, but you only see the flat albedo textures.

Steps to Turn On PBR/POM

1. Install a shader-compatible client or mod loader that supports PBR and POM.

2. Place rotrBLOCKS in your resource pack folder and enable it in Options > Resource Packs.

3. Open your shader settings and pick a shader pack that supports PBR. Many popular shader packs do; check the shader's own documentation if unsure.

4. Inside the shader options, look for entries like Parallax, POM, PBR, or Normal Maps and enable them.

5. If your shader exposes a parallax depth or quality slider, raise it gradually. Higher values give stronger depth but cost performance.

6. Reload resources with F3+T so the pack's normal and height maps are picked up.

Verifying It Worked

Walk up to a stone or brick wall and look at it from an angle. With POM active, the surface should appear to have real indentations and shadows that shift as you move. If it still looks flat, the shader is not reading the maps, or the parallax option is off.
