How to Travel Long Distances with Riptide
Horizontal Momentum
While Riptide is primarily vertical, you can use it for horizontal travel by throwing at shallow angles. Aim slightly upward rather than straight ahead to maintain forward momentum while gaining some height. This lets you cover ground faster than walking.
Chaining Multiple Throws
For longer journeys, throw your trident repeatedly in the direction you want to go. Each throw propels you forward. Time your throws as you descend from the previous launch to maintain continuous movement. This technique is faster than sprinting but requires practice to chain smoothly.
Combining with Terrain
Use hills, mountains, and elevated terrain to your advantage. Throw upward from high ground to extend your range. You can also use Riptide to cross gaps and chasms that would otherwise require building bridges. Plan your route to use natural elevation changes for maximum efficiency.
