RideHud Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I open the RideHud settings?
Press the "H" key while riding a horse, donkey, mule, or llama to open the customization menu. From there you can adjust what information displays and reposition the HUD elements on your screen.
What do the transparent hearts mean?
Transparent hearts represent health points your mount hasn't taken damage on yet—they show the maximum health available. As your mount takes damage, those transparent hearts become filled, indicating lost health.
How do I know what speed my horse is actually going?
By default, the speed bar shows your horse's maximum possible speed. Enable "de-OP-ified" display mode in the settings to see your current speed instead, which updates as you ride.
What's the difference between the jump height bar and speed bar?
The jump height bar shows how high your mount can jump relative to the minimum and maximum possible jump heights. The speed bar displays how fast your mount can travel in the same way—both are comparative ranges, not absolute values.
Can I move the HUD bars around on my screen?
Yes, the bars and hearts are fully movable for layout customization. Open the settings with "H" and drag the HUD elements to reposition them wherever you want on your screen.
Does RideHud work with llamas?
Yes, RideHud displays stats for llamas in addition to horses, donkeys, and mules, showing their health, speed, and jump height in the same vanilla-styled format.
Why is my HUD overlapping with Better Mount Hud or another mod's display?
Both mods are trying to display information in the same area. Use the "H" key to open RideHud's settings and drag your bars and hearts to a different position on screen to avoid the conflict.
Can I display horse stats as numbers instead of bars?
Yes, toggle the optional text-form display in the settings menu to show numerical values for your mount's stats alongside or instead of the visual bars.
Do I need to reconfigure RideHud every time I ride a different horse?
No, your HUD layout and settings are saved globally, so they apply to every horse, donkey, mule, and llama you ride. You only need to customize once.
Will RideHud slow down my game?
RideHud is a lightweight display mod that only renders information while you're actively riding a mount, so it has minimal performance impact on most systems.
