Reduce or Eliminate Fire Damage While Riding
Understanding Riding Damage
By default, riding a Blaze sets you on fire and causes continuous damage. This is intentional—the mod treats the Blaze as a dangerous mount. However, this can be disabled through configuration.
Disabling Fire Damage
1. Locate your mod configuration file (usually in the config folder of your Minecraft installation)
2. Find the Rideable Blazes configuration
3. Locate the burnWhileRiding option
4. Set it to false
5. Save the file and restart Minecraft
Alternative Solutions
If you prefer to keep fire damage enabled for challenge, use protective gear:
- Wear Fire Resistance potions before mounting
- Use armor with Protection enchantments
- Keep healing items in your hotbar
Testing Your Changes
After modifying the config, mount a Blaze and check if you're still taking damage. If changes don't apply, verify the config file was saved correctly and Minecraft was fully restarted.
