Rideable Blazes Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I get a Blaze to ride?
Find a Blaze in the Nether, then hold a saddle and use it on the Blaze like you would saddle a horse. Once saddled, you can right-click or interact with it to mount it.
How do I make the Blaze shoot fireballs?
Punch the Blaze while you're riding it, and it will shoot three fireballs in the direction it's looking. You can punch it multiple times to keep firing.
Why am I taking fire damage while riding?
Blazes naturally set riders on fire. You can disable this in the mod's configuration by setting `burnWhileRiding` to false, or you can use fire resistance potions.
Can I control where the Blaze flies?
Yes, the Blaze will move in the direction you're looking and respond to your movement inputs, similar to riding other mounts. However, the Blaze still has its own AI and may try to attack you.
Will the Blaze still attack me while I'm riding it?
Yes, the Blaze retains its hostile behavior even when saddled, so it can still hurt you while you ride it. Wearing armor and using fire resistance potions helps mitigate this danger.
Do I need a special saddle for Blazes?
No, you use a regular saddle just like you would for horses or other rideable mobs in Minecraft.
Can I ride a Blaze in the Overworld?
Yes, once you saddle a Blaze you can take it anywhere, including the Overworld. However, Blazes will take damage from water, so be careful near bodies of water.
What happens if the Blaze dies while I'm riding it?
You'll be dismounted and fall, so make sure you're at a safe height or have a way to slow your fall, like an Elytra or water bucket.
Can I use a Blaze mount for combat?
Yes, riding a Blaze gives you a mobile platform to shoot fireballs from, making it effective for attacking enemies from range and height. The fireballs shoot where the Blaze is looking, giving you good control over your attacks.
Does this mod work with other mods?
The mod should work with most other mods, but compatibility depends on what other mods you have installed. If you experience issues, try running the mod alone to confirm it's working, then add other mods one at a time to identify conflicts.
