Rich Husk Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do Husks drop gold automatically or do I need to do something?
Husks will drop gold ingots instead of iron automatically once you have the data pack installed and active in your world. No configuration or setup is needed—just kill Husks as normal.
How much gold does each Husk drop?
Husks drop the same quantity of gold ingots as they would normally drop iron ingots. The exact amount can vary based on your game difficulty and any enchantments like Looting.
Can I use this data pack with other mods or data packs?
This data pack should work alongside most other content, but conflicts can occur if another mod or data pack also changes Husk loot tables. Test it in your world and check mod documentation if you experience issues.
Is this better than farming gold from other sources?
Husk farming can be efficient if you're already in a desert biome, but it requires building a farm and waiting for Husks to spawn. Compare it to mining gold ore or looting desert temples based on your available resources and time.
Do I need to be in a desert for Husks to spawn with this mod?
Yes—Husks only spawn naturally in desert biomes, just like in vanilla Minecraft. The data pack only changes their drops, not their spawn conditions.
Will this work on a multiplayer server?
Yes, the data pack works on servers. All players will see Husks drop gold ingots as long as the data pack is installed in the server's data packs folder.
What should I do if Husks are still dropping iron?
Make sure the data pack is enabled in your world settings (check `/datapack list` in-game) and that no conflicting data packs are loaded above it in the priority order.
Can I use gold from Husks for anything special?
Gold ingots from Husks work exactly like any other gold ingots—you can craft them into blocks, use them for enchanting tables, trade with Piglins, or craft gold tools and armor.
Does this mod affect baby Husks or Husk variants?
The data pack changes loot for all Husks that would normally drop iron, including any variants. Check your specific mod setup if you're using mods that add new Husk types.
Will this slow down my game or cause lag?
Data packs have minimal performance impact. This mod simply changes a loot table and should not cause noticeable lag even on lower-end systems.
