How to Reroll a Villager's Trades with the Retraining Mod
When the Reset Button Appears
The Retraining Mod adds a reset button directly to the villager trading screen. It only shows up for villagers who have never been traded with — meaning their trade slots are still fresh and untouched. If you have already completed even one trade with that villager, the button disappears permanently for that individual, so decide carefully before you buy anything.
Step-by-Step Reroll
1. Place or find a villager and open its trading menu by right-clicking.
2. Look for the reset button added by the mod near the trade list.
3. Click it to discard the current offers and generate a brand new set of trades.
4. Check the new offers. If you still don't like them, click reset again — you can keep cycling as long as you have not traded with that villager.
5. Once you see a trade you want (for example a good enchanted book or a cheap emerald-to-item ratio), complete a trade to lock it in.
Practical Tips
Reroll before you ever buy anything, because the first purchase locks the villager's profession trades in place. This is ideal for librarians, where you want a specific enchanted book, and for any villager whose default offers are weak. Keep a few villagers on standby so you can reroll several at once and pick the best result.
