Retraining Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I reset a villager's trades?
Open the villager's trading menu and click the reset button added by the mod. It only appears for villagers you have never traded with, and clicking it refreshes their available offers.
Why isn't the reset button showing up?
The button is hidden once you've completed even one trade with that villager, since the mod only rerolls villagers with no trading experience. If you've traded with them, you'll need a fresh villager to reroll.
Can I reroll trades after trading with a villager once?
No. Any completed trade locks that villager's offers permanently, and the reset button disappears. Plan your rerolls before making your first trade.
How do I get a specific enchanted book from a librarian?
Place a new librarian and open its trade menu before trading, then use the reset button repeatedly until the enchanted book offer matches what you want. Once you find it, trade to lock it in.
Does the mod work on villagers that already have a profession?
Yes, as long as you haven't traded with them. The reset button works on any villager with a profession and no trading history, including librarians, farmers, blacksmiths, and clerics.
Can I reroll trades for farmers, blacksmiths, or clerics too?
Yes, the reset button works for all villager professions, not just librarians. The same rule applies: no prior trades with that villager.
Will resetting trades change the villager's profession?
No, resetting only refreshes the trade offers. The villager keeps their current profession and workstation.
Does the mod work in multiplayer or on servers?
It works wherever the mod is installed on both client and server, since the reset button is part of the trading menu. On servers without the mod installed, the button won't appear.
Is the Retraining Mod compatible with other villager or trading mods?
It generally works alongside mods that don't replace the vanilla trading menu, since it just adds a button to it. Mods that heavily overhaul villager trading may conflict with the reset button.
Does the mod affect performance or change vanilla trading mechanics?
No, it's lightweight and only adds a reset button without altering core trading behavior. Trades, prices, and villager leveling work exactly as in vanilla.
