Why Librarians Are the Main Target

Librarians are the most common reason players install the Retraining Mod. Their enchanted book offers are random, and vanilla mechanics make rerolling painful because you must break and replace the lectern repeatedly. The mod's reset button lets you cycle offers without destroying the workstation.

Rerolling for a Specific Book

1. Place a lectern and let a nearby unemployed villager claim it to become a librarian.

2. Open the trading menu and inspect the enchanted book offer.

3. If it is not the enchantment you want, press the mod's reset button to reroll the trades.

4. Repeat until the book matches your goal — for example Mending, Silk Touch, or a high-level combat enchantment.

5. Do not trade anything until you are satisfied, or the button will vanish.

Avoiding Common Mistakes

Never buy even a cheap item like paper from the librarian before you finish rerolling, since any completed trade locks the offers. If you accidentally trade, you can still cure a zombie villager to reset discounts, but the mod's reroll option will no longer be available for that villager. Stock up on emeralds beforehand so you can immediately purchase the book once it appears.
