Resource Pack Cached Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Where does the mod store my cached resource packs?
The mod saves server resource packs in your Minecraft config folder under a dedicated cache directory. You can locate and manage these files through your file explorer if you need to manually delete or organize them.
Why is my server resource pack not loading from cache?
The server may have updated its resource pack, which the mod treats as a new pack and downloads fresh. You can also check if the cache was cleared accidentally or if the mod config was reset.
Can I use this mod with multiple servers that have different resource packs?
Yes, the mod saves and manages separate cached packs for each server you join. When you connect to a server, it automatically applies the correct cached pack for that server.
Does this mod work with single-player resource packs?
This mod is designed specifically for server resource packs. Your single-player resource packs are managed separately and won't be affected by this mod.
How much disk space do cached resource packs use?
Storage depends on the size of each server's resource pack; larger packs with high-resolution textures will take up more space. You can check your cache folder size in your file explorer or delete individual server caches if you need to free up space.
Will cached packs slow down my Minecraft startup?
No—the mod is designed to speed up startup by automatically loading your last used server pack without re-downloading it. Loading from cache is much faster than downloading from the server.
What happens if I disable the mod after caching packs?
The cached files remain on your disk, but Minecraft will stop using them and return to normal resource pack behavior. If you re-enable the mod later, your cached packs will still be there.
Can I share my cached resource packs with another player?
You can manually copy the cache files to another player's cache folder, but it's usually simpler to let each player's mod cache packs naturally when they join the server.
Does this mod work with modded servers?
Yes, the mod caches any server resource pack regardless of whether the server is vanilla or modded. It only manages the resource pack download and loading process.
How do I force the mod to re-download a server's resource pack?
Delete the cached pack file for that server from your cache folder, or use the mod's cache management option if available in your config. The next time you join that server, the mod will download and cache the fresh pack.
