What is the Requiem Mod?
Requiem is a Minecraft Java Edition mod that overhauls the death system, removing the vanilla respawn menu and replacing it with new mechanics like player souls and undead possession. Instead of losing your items and being sent back to spawn, dying leads into new gameplay elements.
What does the Requiem Mod add?
It adds new death mechanics including player souls and undead possession, letting players become wandering spirits that can possess mobs. It also adds admin commands starting with /requiem, such as /requiem remnant.
What Minecraft versions does the Requiem Mod support?

Yes, the mod allows both the Vanilla and Requiem death systems to coexist in the same world at the same time, depending on each player's needs.
How do you enable the Requiem death system?
On your first death, Requiem asks through interactive dialogue whether you want to enable the modified death system. After choosing, the dialogue won't be prompted again, and you'll need a special item to change it.
Is the Requiem Mod compatible with Origins?
Yes. When Origins is installed, the choice between mortal and demon is made through the Origins selection screen instead of the first-death dialogue, and origin powers are disabled when outside a regular player body.
Is the Requiem Mod compatible with Optifine?
No, Optifine and Optifabric are incompatible with Requiem. The First Person Mod is also incompatible, as it makes the possessed mob appear in first person and block your sight.
Can Eldritch Mobs be possessed in Requiem?
No, Eldritch mobs cannot be possessed. However, all modded golems from Golems Galore and Jungle skeletons from Better Nether can be possessed by default.
