REPO Heads Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I make my head split open?
Your head splits based on sound volume in your world—the louder the noise, the wider it opens. This includes game sounds, music, and if you have voice chat or microphone input enabled, your own voice. Check the mod settings to ensure sound detection is turned on.
Why aren't my eyes tracking movement?
Eye tracking follows entities and the camera view in real time. Make sure eye-tracking is enabled in the mod config, and verify that your pupil and eye position settings aren't set to extreme values that hide them. If nothing moves on screen, the eyes may have no target to follow.
Can I customize where my eyes look?
Yes—the mod lets you adjust both eye position (horizontal and vertical placement on your head) and pupil position (where the pupil sits within the eye) with pixel precision. Access these settings in the mod's configuration menu to fine-tune the appearance.
What does 'head split height' mean and how do I change it?
Head split height controls how far your head opens vertically when reacting to sound. You can adjust this value in the config settings with pixel-level precision to make the split more or less dramatic depending on your preference.
Does this mod work with other cosmetic mods?
REPO Heads Mod modifies your player model's head rendering, so compatibility depends on what other mods do. Mods that heavily alter player models or heads may conflict; test them together to see if they work. Most cosmetic mods that don't touch the head should be fine.
Can I use this in multiplayer?
Yes, but other players only see your head animations if they also have the mod installed. Without it, they'll see your character normally. The mod is client-side, so it won't affect servers or require them to have it.
How do I make my head react to my voice?
Enable microphone or voice chat input in the mod settings, and make sure your audio device is properly configured in your system settings. The mod will then detect sound from your microphone and trigger head splitting based on volume, just like game sounds.
My head won't stop splitting or splits too easily—how do I fix it?
Adjust the sensitivity setting in the mod config to raise or lower the volume threshold needed to trigger splitting. You can also check if background noise or game volume is too high and dial it back.
Does this mod impact performance?
The mod runs client-side and uses real-time head and eye animation, so it has minimal impact on most systems. If you experience lag, try disabling eye-tracking or lowering your render distance, though this is rarely necessary.
Can I turn off the head splitting but keep eye tracking?
Yes—the mod's config menu lets you toggle features independently. You can disable sound-based head splitting while keeping eye-tracking active, or vice versa, depending on what you want to see.
