How to Fix Voice Chat Audio Not Appearing in Replays

Common Causes

If your replay has no voice chat audio or no player icons, the issue is usually one of a few things: the voice chat mod was not active during recording, the voice chat API was not detected, or the recording started before anyone joined the channel.

Troubleshooting Steps

1. Confirm a compatible voice chat mod is installed and running alongside ReplayMod. Replay Voice Chat relies on the Simple Voice Chat Plugin API, so the voice chat mod must be present.

2. Check that you were actually connected to a voice channel or group during the recording. Audio is only captured while voice chat is active.

3. Verify that other players were speaking. Silent channels produce silent replays.

4. Start a short test recording, have someone speak, then stop and play back the replay to confirm audio is captured.

5. If audio is still missing, check that the mod is loaded on the client side and that no other mod is conflicting with the voice chat API.

Player Icons Missing

If you hear audio but see no speaker icons, the voice chat data may not have been associated with player entities at record time — this can happen if players joined after recording started.

Rendering Issues

If audio is present in the replay but missing from the render output, re-check your render settings and output folder. Separate audio tracks are written alongside the video, so look for individual audio files rather than expecting a single mixed track.
