Repairsmith Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I find a Repairsmith in my world?
Repairstmiths spawn in repair workshops that generate naturally in villages during world creation. If your village doesn't have one, you can create a repair workshop manually by placing an anvil in a building, and an unemployed villager will claim it as their workstation.
What items can the Repairsmith repair?
The Repairsmith can repair any item with durability damage, including tools, weapons, and armor. Enchanted items can also be repaired while keeping their enchantments intact.
How is the repair cost calculated?
Repair costs are based on how damaged the item is—the more durability lost, the higher the emerald cost. This means repairing a slightly worn tool costs less than restoring a nearly broken one.
Do I lose enchantments when repairing with a Repairsmith?
No, all enchantments on your item are preserved when the Repairsmith repairs it, making it a better option than combining items at an anvil.
How do I level up my Repairsmith?
Both you and the Repairsmith gain experience from each successful trade. As the villager levels up, they unlock better trade offers and discounts on their repair services.
What's the difference between a Repairsmith and using Mending?
Mending requires you to have the enchantment on your item and collect experience orbs to trigger repairs passively. A Repairsmith lets you actively repair items on demand for emeralds, giving you more control over when repairs happen.
Can I create a Repairsmith if one doesn't spawn in my village?
Yes—place an anvil in an accessible building within your village, and an unemployed villager will eventually claim it and become a Repairsmith.
Do Repairstmiths offer discounts?
Yes, as you level up your Repairsmith through trades, they unlock discounts that reduce the emerald cost of repairs.
Can I repair items with the Repairsmith if they're at full durability?
No, the Repairsmith only repairs damaged items. Items at full durability have no repair cost and don't need their services.
Does this mod work with other mods that add custom tools and weapons?
The Repairsmith should repair most modded items with durability, but compatibility depends on how those items are coded—check the mod's documentation or test with your specific mod setup if you're unsure.
