Replace All Instances of One Block with Another

Basic Block Swap

The simplest use of Reliable Replacer is swapping every occurrence of one block type for another across your entire world.

Steps

1. Navigate to config/reliable_replacer and create a new JSON file (for example, basic_swap.json).

2. Write a replacement rule with this structure:

  • Specify the block you want to replace (the "from" block)
  • Specify what it should become (the "to" block)

3. Save the file.

4. Return to your game and type /reload in chat.

5. The mod will begin replacing all matching blocks as chunks load or regenerate.

Tips

  • You can create multiple JSON files in the config folder—the mod reads them all.
  • Changes apply to newly generated chunks immediately after /reload.
  • Existing blocks in already-loaded chunks may not update until those chunks are reloaded or regenerated.
  • Use this method to ban unwanted blocks from your world or create custom ore distributions.
