Make Block Replacements Happen Randomly
Percentage-Based Replacement
Instead of replacing every matching block, you can set a percentage chance so replacements happen randomly. This creates natural-looking variation in your world.
Steps
1. Open a JSON file in config/reliable_replacer or create a new one.
2. Add a replacement rule and include a percentage value that controls how often the swap occurs.
3. For example, set it to 50% to replace roughly half of the matching blocks, or 25% for a sparser distribution.
4. Save the file and type /reload.
5. The mod will now apply the replacement randomly based on your percentage.
Tips
- Percentage-based rules are excellent for creating natural ore distributions or scattered decorative blocks.
- Lower percentages (10-30%) create sparse, rare appearances.
- Higher percentages (70-90%) create dense coverage.
- Combine percentage rules with biome filters for region-specific randomness.
- Each block is evaluated independently, so results vary naturally across your world.
