How to Upgrade a Reinforced Shulker Box to the Next Tier

Understand the Upgrade Path

Upgrades are sequential: Copper → Iron → Gold → Diamond → Netherite. You cannot jump from Copper straight to Diamond. Each upgrade consumes the previous box plus the next tier's metal in a crafting grid, so keep your lower-tier boxes rather than discarding them.

Crafting-Grid Upgrades (Copper through Diamond)

For Copper, Iron, Gold, and Diamond tiers, place the existing Reinforced Shulker Box in the center of the crafting grid and surround it with the target metal ingots following the mod's recipe layout. The box retains its contents during the upgrade, so you do not need to empty it first — but it is still wise to back up valuable items in case you misplace the recipe.

Netherite Uses a Smithing Table

The final step is different. Netherite upgrades use a Smithing Table, not a crafting grid. Place your Diamond Reinforced Shulker Box in the base slot, a Netherite Ingot in the addition slot, and the required smithing template in the template slot. The result is a Netherite Reinforced Shulker Box that resists explosions, fire, and lava — ideal for mining trips or Nether travel.
