Tuning Update Speeds and Lazy Energy in the Mixin Mod Config

Where the Settings Live

The Mixin Mod exposes its update speed controls in its config file. You can change how often normal blocks tick, how aggressively idle machines sleep, and how energy usage is counted (the "lazy energy" feature).

Recommended Approach

1. Start with the defaults. They are tuned to fix lag without breaking normal play.

2. If your base is enormous and TPS is still low, lower the normal block update speed further. This makes idle cables and machines check themselves less often.

3. If you notice crafting jobs or item transfers feeling sluggish, raise the update speed back up. Active machines are supposed to stay fast, but extreme settings can still affect them.

4. Lazy energy changes how power draw is calculated. If your energy system reports odd numbers after enabling it, that is expected. It batches calculations instead of counting every tick.

5. If you use a portable grid or wireless grid and it shows an empty storage screen, check that the network chunk is loaded. The mod skips unloaded chunks, so a grid pointing at an unloaded network will show nothing.

Testing

Change one setting at a time and watch your server tick time. Revert anything that causes visible delays in item movement.
