How do I open JEI from inside my storage grid?
JEI opens automatically when you open your Refined Storage grid or pattern grid. The recipe list appears on the right side of your screen by default. If it's hidden, check that JEI is enabled in your mod settings.
What's the difference between pressing R and U on an item?
Pressing R shows you the recipe to *make* an item (crafting recipes). Pressing U shows you what that item is *used in* (recipes that need it as an ingredient).
Can I move a recipe into my grid if I don't have all the items?
Yes. Click the plus button to add the recipe to your crafting grid, and the mod will place any items you already own into the slots automatically. Empty slots show what you still need to find or craft.
How do I send a recipe directly to my pattern grid for autocrafting?
Open the recipe preview in JEI, then click the pattern grid button (shown in the recipe interface). The recipe will transfer to your pattern grid, and the mod highlights which ingredients your system can already craft.
What are ghost items and how do I use them?
Ghost items are placeholder copies you can drag from the JEI list into filter slots without needing the actual item in your inventory. This lets you configure machines like importers and exporters instantly.
Does typing in my storage grid search also search JEI?
Yes. The search bar syncs between Refined Storage and JEI, so one search filters both menus at the same time.
Why is the JEI menu covering my storage grid?
The mod is designed to push the item list out of the way automatically, but if it's still overlapping, try resizing your storage grid window or moving it to a different part of your screen.
Can I start an autocraft task from the recipe preview without moving items manually?
Yes. The mod lets you trigger autocrafting directly from the recipe preview screen, which is faster than moving items to your crafting grid first.
Does this mod work with other storage mods or just Refined Storage?
This mod is specifically designed for Refined Storage and JEI integration. It won't add these features to other storage systems.
What should I do if recipes aren't showing up in JEI when I hover over items?
Make sure both Refined Storage and JEI are installed and enabled. If recipes still don't appear, try reloading your world or checking that the item actually has a crafting recipe in your modpack.
