Set Up Chains That Won't Break Apart

Understanding Reconnection

With Reconnectible Chains Mod, chains automatically seek out nearby blocks to reconnect to when their current attachment point is destroyed. This prevents long chain segments from becoming floating debris in your build.

Best Practices for Stable Chains

Plan your anchor points: Place solid blocks (wood, stone, metal) at regular intervals along your chain runs. Chains will prioritize reconnecting to the nearest available block when broken.

Avoid isolated chains: Don't create chains that hang between two points with nothing in between. The mod works best when there are multiple potential reconnection targets nearby.

Test your setup: Break blocks intentionally in your chain structure to verify reconnection behavior. Watch which direction chains reattach to—they'll seek the closest valid surface.

Use in decorative builds: Chains hanging from chandeliers, ship rigging, or prison cells will stay intact even if you remove support blocks during renovation, automatically finding new attachment points.

This mechanic is especially useful for complex builds where chains span multiple levels or structures, ensuring your decorative elements remain connected even through partial demolition or modification.
