Keeping RebornCore and Its Mods Stable Across Updates

Library mods are the quiet cause of many "it worked yesterday" problems. RebornCore is shared by many mods, so a change to it can ripple outward. A little discipline keeps a modpack stable.

Update as a Group

When you update any mod that depends on RebornCore — TechReborn, QuantumStorage, Reborn Storage, Trashcans, and the rest — check whether RebornCore also needs updating. Dependent mods are often built against a specific core version, so updating one without the other is the classic way to break a pack. Update them together, or not at all.

Back Up Before You Touch Anything

Copy your world save and your mods folder before changing versions. If a new combination crashes, you can restore the working set instantly instead of rebuilding it. This matters most for worlds with machines and storage already placed, since a broken load can leave blocks in an odd state.

Test in a Copy

Load your world in a duplicate instance first. Walk through your machine rooms, open storage GUIs, and confirm chunk-loaded areas still tick. Only then apply the change to your main instance.

Watch for Silent Breakage

Not every problem is a crash. A mismatched core can cause machines to stop accepting energy or storage to lose configuration without any error. If behavior changes after an update, suspect the core-and-dependent-mod pairing first, and roll back to the last known-good set.
