Reborn Core Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
What does RebornCore actually do if it doesn't add any blocks or items?
RebornCore is a library mod, meaning it supplies shared code, classes, and systems that other mods build on rather than adding content itself. You won't see it in your inventory or creative tabs, but the mods that depend on it won't function or even load without it present.
How do I know which of my installed mods need RebornCore?
Mods like TechReborn, QuantumStorage, Trashcans, Fluxed Redstone, Reborn Storage, and the Reborn versions of Steve's Carts and Steve's Factory Manager rely on it. If a mod's page or its crash log lists RebornCore as a dependency, it needs it installed.
Do I need to install RebornCore on both client and server?
Yes. Because it's a library that provides shared code, it must be present on both the client and the server for the dependent mods to work correctly. Installing it on only one side will cause connection or loading errors.
Why does my game crash with a 'RebornCore missing' or dependency error?
This usually means a mod that requires RebornCore is installed without it, or the two are mismatched in version. Make sure RebornCore is present and matches the version your dependent mods expect.
Can I use RebornCore-powered machines without configuring anything first?
Most machines and storage blocks from dependent mods work out of the box once RebornCore is installed. Some machines need power or a specific setup, so check the individual mod's own guide for how each one operates.
How do I update RebornCore without breaking my existing world?
Update RebornCore together with all the mods that depend on it, since a version mismatch between them is the most common cause of breakage. Back up your world before updating, and avoid mixing versions of the core and its dependent mods.
Is RebornCore compatible with other big modpacks and mods?
RebornCore is designed as a shared library, so it generally coexists fine with other mods as long as versions line up. Conflicts usually come from a dependent mod expecting a different RebornCore version, not from RebornCore itself.
Will RebornCore hurt my game's performance?
As a library, RebornCore adds little on its own; performance depends mostly on the mods that use it, like machine-heavy mods. If you notice lag, look at the dependent mods' machines and storage rather than the core.
Why do some RebornCore mods show up but their blocks don't work?
This typically happens when RebornCore is missing, outdated, or mismatched with the dependent mod. Reinstalling matching versions of the core and the affected mod usually restores the missing blocks and functionality.
Do I need RebornCore if I only want one of the mods that uses it?
Yes. Even if you only run a single dependent mod, RebornCore is still required for it to load and run. You can't skip the core just because you're using one mod instead of several.
