Rebalanced Piglin Bartering Data Pack FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I start bartering with Piglins using this mod?
Piglins work the same way as vanilla—throw gold ingots at them and they'll pick them up, then drop items from the rebalanced loot table. This mod only changes what items they give back, not how the trading mechanic works.
What's the best way to farm netherite upgrade smithing templates?
Netherite upgrade smithing templates have a 0.8% drop chance, so you'll need to do a lot of bartering. Set up a gold farm and an AFK bartering station where Piglins can continuously pick up gold ingots and drop items into a collection system.
Can I get ancient debris from Piglins with this mod?
Yes, ancient debris appears in the bartering pool with a 0.16% chance (1-2 pieces per trade), making it a very rare but possible alternative to mining or lava diving.
Why am I getting so much gravel and leather?
Gravel and leather are common drops at 6.4% chance each—they're filler items in the pool. If you want specific rare items, you'll need to do many trades and sort through the results.
Does this mod change how much gold I need to give Piglins?
No, Piglins still require one gold ingot per trade. This mod only rebalances the items they give in return.
Are the enchanted books from Piglins always the same level?
The mod specifies which enchanted books appear (Sharpness, Fire Aspect, Looting, and Soul Speed books), but doesn't guarantee specific enchantment levels—check each book when you receive it.
Can I get netherite blocks and gold blocks from bartering?
Yes, both appear in the pool: gold blocks at 0.8% chance and netherite blocks at 0.16% chance (1 per trade), though they're extremely rare.
Is this mod compatible with other bartering mods?
This is a data pack, so it modifies loot tables directly—using it alongside other mods or packs that also change Piglin bartering will cause conflicts. Check that your other mods don't override the same loot tables.
How do I collect nether building blocks efficiently?
Blocks like nether wart block, warped wart block, nylium, and stems all have 4.8% drop chances, so they're relatively common. Use a hopper system to sort and store them as Piglins drop them.
Will this mod lag my server if I run a big bartering farm?
A large bartering farm with many Piglins and hoppers can cause lag depending on your hardware—consider spreading Piglins across multiple chunks and using item sorters efficiently to minimize entity and block updates.
