Set Up Your First NPC with MythicMobs
Create the NPC Configuration
Open your MythicMobs configuration folder and create a new .yml file for your NPC. Define the mob using the Realms NPC Model entity type—for example, a Blacksmith NPC. Specify the model name exactly as it appears in the ModelEngine pack, then configure basic properties like health, display name, and whether the NPC should be invulnerable.
Spawn and Test
Use the MythicMobs command to spawn your configured NPC in-game. Walk around it to verify the idle stance and wave animation play smoothly. If the model doesn't appear, double-check that ModelEngine is running and the model name matches your config exactly.
Add Interactions
Once spawned, you can layer additional MythicMobs features—dialogue triggers, shop menus, or quest hooks—on top of the NPC. The model itself handles animations; your config handles behavior. Test interactions from different distances to ensure they feel natural for your settlement layout.
