Realms NPC Model FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need ModelEngine installed to use this mod?
Yes, Realms NPC Model runs on the ModelEngine plugin runtime, so you must have ModelEngine installed and running on your server before adding these NPCs.
Can I use these NPCs without MythicMobs?
The pack includes drag-and-drop configs for MythicMobs, ItemsAdder, and Oraxen, but you only need one of these plugins to spawn and manage the NPCs—MythicMobs is the most common choice for beginners.
How do I make an NPC stand in one spot and not wander?
Use the idle stance configuration in your plugin's NPC settings (MythicMobs, ItemsAdder, or Oraxen) to disable pathfinding and movement; the NPC will stay in place and play its idle and wave animations.
Can I change what the NPCs look like?
ItemsAdder support lets you swap textures and equipment on the models, and you can customize their appearance through your plugin's config files—see the Customize NPC Appearance with ItemsAdder guide for details.
Which NPC type should I use for a quest-giver?
Any of the five NPCs (Blacksmith, Farmer, Lumberjack, Miner, Warrior) can work as a quest-giver; choose based on the theme of your settlement or the quests you want them to offer.
Do the NPCs have different animations?
All five NPCs have idle stances and friendly wave animations built in; the animations play automatically when players are nearby, giving each NPC personality without extra setup.
Will these NPCs lag my server?
ModelEngine is optimized for entity rendering, but performance depends on how many NPCs you spawn and your server hardware—start with a few NPCs in one area and monitor performance before populating an entire world.
Can I make an NPC interact with players or run commands?
Interaction and commands are handled by your plugin (MythicMobs, ItemsAdder, or Oraxen), not the model pack itself—configure triggers and actions in those plugins' config files to make NPCs respond to clicks or proximity.
How do I spawn multiple different NPCs in the same village?
Use your plugin's spawn commands or config files to place each NPC type (Blacksmith, Farmer, etc.) at different coordinates; see the Populate a Village with Multiple NPC Types guide for a step-by-step example.
What do I do if an NPC isn't showing up or looks broken?
Check that ModelEngine is running, the NPC config file is in the correct folder, and the model name matches exactly in your plugin's spawn command—also verify there are no errors in your server logs related to ModelEngine or your plugin.
