Adjust Shadow Softness and Ground Shadows

Open Lighting Settings

Access the RealisticRemake Shaders menu and navigate to the shadows or lighting section. This is where you control how shadows appear on terrain and blocks.

Configure Shadow Properties

Look for options related to:

  • Shadow Softness: Increase this to make shadows have softer, blurred edges for a more natural look. Decrease it for sharper, more defined shadows
  • Shadow Intensity: Control how dark shadows appear on the ground and on blocks
  • Ground Shadow Distance: Adjust how far shadows cast across terrain from objects and structures

Apply and Test

Make adjustments and observe how shadows fall during different times of day. Shadows are most visible during morning and afternoon when the sun is at an angle. Softer shadows create a gentler, more fantasy-like appearance, while sharper shadows give more definition to terrain. Test in varied terrain—mountains, forests, and flat plains—to ensure shadows look natural across your world. You can toggle settings on and off to compare before and after effects.
