Getting the Best Visual Quality from Your Shader Pack

Choose a Compatible Shader System

Realis Craft works best with shader packs that support LabPBR or OldPBR rendering. These systems read the normal maps and specular maps included in the textures, allowing blocks to display proper depth, reflections, and material properties. Without a compatible shader, you'll see flat textures without the realistic lighting effects.

Enable PBR Features in Your Shader Settings

Once you've installed a compatible shader, open its configuration menu in-game. Look for options related to:

  • Normal map rendering
  • Specular/roughness mapping
  • Parallax occlusion or relief mapping
  • Ambient occlusion intensity

Enable these features to activate the physically based rendering that makes materials like metal, stone, and wood look authentic.

Adjust Render Distance and Graphics Settings

For smooth performance with high-resolution textures, set your render distance to 12-16 chunks depending on your computer's power. Use Fast or Fancy graphics mode—Fancy reveals more shadow detail from the material ambient occlusion. If you experience lag, lower your texture resolution from 256x to 128x in the pack settings.
