Choosing the Right Resolution for Your Computer
Understand Resolution Options
Realis Craft offers multiple texture resolutions: the base pack uses 128x textures for all blocks, while the complete pack provides options up to 2048x resolution. Higher resolutions show more detail but demand significantly more video memory and processing power.
Match Resolution to Your Hardware
- 128x: Works on most computers; recommended for laptops or systems with 2-4GB VRAM
- 256x-512x: Requires a mid-range GPU; good balance of detail and performance
- 1024x-2048x: Only for high-end systems with 6GB+ VRAM; expect reduced frame rates without optimization
Test and Optimize
Start with 128x and gradually increase resolution while monitoring frame rate. Use F3 to check your FPS. If you drop below 60 FPS consistently, lower the resolution one step. You can also reduce render distance or disable fancy graphics to maintain performance at higher texture resolutions. Remember that shader complexity also affects performance—a simpler shader allows higher texture resolution.
