RarityCore Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to configure anything when I first install RarityCore?
No, the mod works automatically out of the box. Items will immediately display colored backgrounds based on their rarity level, which is calculated from their crafting recipes.
Why are some of my items not showing colored backgrounds?
Items without crafting recipes (like mob drops or items from other mods without recipe data) may not get automatic colors. You can manually assign rarity levels to these items in the creative menu, or check if you need to disable batch processing in EMI or HUD batching in ImmediatelyFast.
How do I change the color of a specific item's background?
Open the creative inventory, find the item, and click on it to open the rarity customization menu where you can select a new rarity level and adjust the colors.
What's the difference between the seven rarity levels?
The mod assigns items to seven rarity tiers based on crafting complexity, ranging from basic (gray) for simple blocks to legendary (gold) for the hardest-to-obtain items, with uncommon, rare, epic, and mythical levels in between.
Does RarityCore work with Apotheosis?
Yes, the mod can connect with Apotheosis to use its weapon and gem quality levels instead of the default rarity colors, giving you more specialized categorization for those items.
Why are colored backgrounds missing from my hotbar?
If you use ImmediatelyFast, you need to turn off the HUD batching setting in that mod's config to restore colored backgrounds on your hotbar items.
Can I see colored backgrounds in storage mods like Refined Storage?
Yes, RarityCore displays colored backgrounds inside digital storage screens and backpack mods like Refined Storage and Elegant Backpacks without extra setup.
How does the mod calculate an item's rarity automatically?
RarityCore analyzes the crafting recipe for each item and determines rarity based on the complexity and difficulty of obtaining the ingredients needed.
Can I give two different items with the same name different rarity colors?
Yes, the mod supports advanced item data, so custom weapons or items with different stats can have different rarity levels even if they share the same name.
Why aren't colored backgrounds showing in EMI recipe tabs?
You need to turn off the batch processing feature in EMI's settings so that RarityCore's backgrounds can display properly in the recipe interface.
