RandomTP Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I use the random teleport command?
Type /rtp in chat to teleport to a random location in your current world. You'll be moved to an unexplored area within the maximum distance set in the config file. If you're on cooldown, the command will tell you how long to wait before using it again.
What's the difference between /rtp and /rtpd?
/rtp teleports you to a random location in your current dimension, while /rtpd teleports you to a random location in a different dimension entirely. Both commands respect the cooldown timer and distance settings.
How do I set up a safe zone where players can't teleport?
Use the configuration file to define a safe random teleport zone by setting boundary coordinates. Players using /rtp or /rtpd will never be teleported into this protected area, keeping spawn and other important locations safe.
How do I give certain players cooldown exemption?
Grant players the appropriate permission node through your permission plugin or server settings. Players with cooldown exemption can use /rtp and /rtpd without waiting between uses.
Can I change what the teleport messages say?
Yes, edit the messages configuration file to customize the text players see when they teleport, when they're on cooldown, or when the command fails. You can personalize these messages to match your server's style.
What happens if I teleport to a location with no blocks?
The mod is designed to teleport you to safe, loaded terrain. If you land in an unsafe spot, check your configuration settings—you may need to adjust the max-distance or ensure chunks are properly generated in your world.
Can I use this mod on servers, or is it client-only?
RandomTP Mod works both as a server-side mod and client-side only mod, depending on your setup. For multiplayer servers, install it server-side so all players can use the commands with consistent cooldowns and settings.
How do I change the cooldown time between teleports?
Open the configuration file and adjust the cooldown value for both /rtp and /rtpd commands. The cooldown applies to all players unless they have the exemption permission.
Can I disable random teleports to certain dimensions?
Yes, use the allowed dimensions setting in the configuration file to choose which dimensions players can teleport to. You can exclude dimensions like the End or Nether if you want to restrict teleportation.
What's the max-distance setting and how does it work?
Max-distance controls how far from your current position the mod will teleport you. Increasing this value sends you to more distant locations, while decreasing it keeps teleports closer to home—adjust it based on your world size and exploration needs.
