Randomite Classic Mod FAQ

Randomite Ore drops a random resource instead of itself when mined, so each block you break can give you something different. Deepslate Randomite Ore is the deepslate variant that behaves the same way but generates lower in the world.

Randomite Ore generates in the overworld like a normal ore, and the deepslate version appears at deeper depths where stone turns to deepslate. Branch mine or explore caves at the depth where you normally find ores and watch for the randomite texture.

Randomite Ore spawns in the stone layers and Deepslate Randomite Ore spawns in the deepslate layers below the stone-to-deepslate transition. If you want the deepslate version, dig down past the deepslate line and mine there.

Mining Randomite Ore gives you one random resource from its drop table, which can include common materials as well as rarer ones. The exact drop is rolled each time you break a block, so two blocks in a row can give completely different items.

Fortune affects the quantity of the random drop you receive, so a higher Fortune level can increase how many items you get per block. It does not change which resource is chosen, only the amount.

Silk Touch lets you pick up the Randomite Ore or Deepslate Randomite Ore block itself instead of triggering the random drop. This is useful if you want to move the ore, store it, or mine it later with Fortune.

It depends on the drop table, but because each block rolls independently you can get valuable resources from blocks that would otherwise be plain stone. Mining it in bulk tends to average out to a reasonable yield.

Breaking Randomite Ore with a piston or explosion generally does not give you the random drop the way mining it with a pickaxe does. Use a pickaxe if you actually want the resources.

Because the drops are unpredictable, set up a sorting or bulk storage area near your mine so you are not running back and forth. A few chests or a simple item sorter for the common drops keeps your inventory clear while you mine.

Randomite Ore is a normal block, so it generally works fine alongside other mods that add ores, mining tools, or storage. If another mod changes ore generation or drop tables, the two may interact, so check your world if drops look unusual.
