Apply Different Mob Sizes Based on Minecraft Difficulty
Use difficulty-based scaling
Configure mobs to spawn at different sizes depending on whether the world is set to Peaceful, Easy, Normal, or Hard. This automatically adjusts mob challenge as difficulty changes.
`
/mobscalings set <entity_type> difficulty {peaceful:1.3, easy:1.15, normal:1.0, hard:0.75}
`
In this example, Peaceful spawns the largest mobs (1.3×), while Hard spawns the smallest (0.75×).
Invert for harder gameplay
If you want difficulty to make mobs *bigger* and tougher, reverse the numbers:
`
{peaceful:0.75, easy:1.0, normal:1.15, hard:1.3}
`
Combine with attribute scaling
You can also add scale_health and scale_damage to difficulty configs:
`
/mobscalings set <entity_type> difficulty {peaceful:1.3, easy:1.15, normal:1.0, hard:0.75, scale_health:"normal", scale_damage:"normal"}
`
Reload to apply changes
After setting your difficulty config, run /random_mob_sizes config reload to activate it in your running world.
