Set up your first Quicksorter

Basic Setup

A Quicksorter is the simplest way to automate item sorting without adding new blocks to your world.

1. Choose a location for your storage area

2. Place an emerald block or diamond block on the ground (emerald sorts items within 5 blocks; diamond within 10 blocks)

3. Place a regular chest directly on top of the block

4. This chest is now your Quicksorter

How It Works

Once set up, any items you place in the Quicksorter will automatically distribute to nearby chests that already contain matching items. For example, if you put a stack of oak logs into the Quicksorter and a nearby chest already has oak logs, those logs will be sent to that chest.

Important: The Quicksorter only sends items to chests that already have the same item type. It won't create new item stacks in empty chests. Plan your storage layout so each item type has at least one "seed" chest containing that item.
