How do I make my first Quicksorter?
Place either an emerald block or diamond block on the ground, then put a regular chest directly on top of it. That's your Quicksorter—items placed inside will automatically sort into nearby chests that contain matching items.
Why isn't my Quicksorter sorting items?
The Quicksorter only distributes items to nearby chests that already contain the same item type. Make sure your destination chests have at least one of each item you want sorted, and they're within range (5 blocks for emerald, 10 blocks for diamond).
What's the difference between emerald and diamond Quicksorters?
An emerald block Quicksorter has a range of 5 blocks, while a diamond block Quicksorter has a range of 10 blocks. Use diamond if you need to sort items across a larger storage area.
Can I use a double chest as a Quicksorter?
Yes, you can place a double chest on top of an emerald or diamond block to create a Quicksorter with double the capacity.
Does the Quicksorter work through walls or only in direct line of sight?
The Quicksorter distributes to all chests within its range regardless of walls or obstacles between them—range is measured as distance, not line of sight.
What happens if multiple destination chests can receive the same item?
The Quicksorter will distribute items to the nearest matching chest within range, or split them among multiple chests if they're equidistant.
Can I customize which items a Quicksorter accepts or rejects?
Yes, you can define custom Quicksorter types and filtering rules through the mod's config file to control exactly which items get sorted and where.
Does this mod require installation on the client side?
No, Quicksort Mod only needs to be installed on the server—clients do not need to have it installed to play on a server running the mod.
Will Quicksorters cause lag if I have many chests?
The mod is designed to be lightweight and shouldn't cause significant lag, but having many active Quicksorters in a small area may impact performance depending on your server specs.
Can I use hoppers or other blocks instead of chests with Quicksorters?
