Set Up Quest Conditions and Restrictions

Using Conditions to Control Quest Completion

Conditions add challenge and roleplay depth by restricting *how* players complete quests.

1. When editing a quest, add a condition to an objective.

2. Common condition types include:

  • Location-based: Require players to stay within a WorldGuard region while completing the task
  • Creature riding: Force players to ride a horse, boat, or other entity during the objective
  • Timing: Set a countdown timer—players must finish before time runs out

3. Test the condition by attempting the quest and verifying it fails if you break the rule.

Combining Conditions for Complex Quests

Stack multiple conditions on a single objective for creative challenges. For example: "Collect these items while riding a horse within this mountain region, and finish in 10 minutes."

Conditions make quests memorable and encourage players to engage with your server's geography and mechanics in new ways. Adjust difficulty by loosening or tightening restrictions based on player feedback.
