Quests Plugin FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
How do I create my first quest?
Use the in-game editor by typing chat commands—you don't need to edit config files. Start with `/quest create [name]`, then add objectives and rewards using the command interface or GUI menus.
Can I make quests that multiple players can do at the same time?
Yes, players can accept and work on the same quests simultaneously. Each player tracks their own progress independently, so one player completing a quest doesn't affect others.
How do I assign a quest to an NPC?
You need Citizens 2 installed, then create an NPC and link it to your quest using the quest editor. The NPC will display a particle effect above its head when the quest is available to players.
What happens if a player leaves and comes back—do they keep their quest progress?
Yes, quest progress is saved to the server. When a player rejoins, they resume from where they left off unless an admin resets their progress.
Can I make a quest that only certain players can access?
Yes, use conditions and restrictions to limit quests by permission, player level, or other criteria. You can also set up WorldGuard region restrictions if needed.
What kind of rewards can I give for completing quests?
You can award items, experience points, permissions, and perks from other plugins. You can also grant Quest Points that feed into leaderboards.
Do I need to know how to code to use this plugin?
No—the in-game editor handles most setups through chat commands. However, you can use the Quests API or Denizen scripts if you want to create custom objectives or actions.
Can players see a leaderboard of who completed the most quests?
Yes, if you enable Quest Points as rewards, players can be ranked on leaderboards based on their total points earned.
What's the difference between objectives and conditions?
Objectives are tasks players must complete to finish a quest (like delivering items or killing mobs). Conditions are restrictions that must be met while doing the quest (like staying in a specific region or riding a creature).
Does this plugin work with other quest plugins or will they conflict?
Running multiple quest plugins on the same server can cause conflicts and confusion. It's best to use only one quest system, though Quests Plugin is designed to work alongside most other server plugins.
