Create Your First Quest with the In-Game Editor
Setting Up a Basic Quest
The in-game editor lets you build quests entirely through chat commands without touching config files.
1. Use the quest creation command to start a new quest. Give it a clear name that describes the objective.
2. Set a description that players will see when browsing available quests.
3. Add at least one objective—this is what players must complete. Common options include:
- Collecting items
- Reaching a specific location
- Defeating mobs
- Placing or breaking blocks
4. Define a reward. This can be items, experience points, or permissions depending on your server setup.
5. Test the quest by accepting it yourself and completing the objective to verify it works.
Publishing Your Quest
Once configured, enable the quest so players can see and accept it. If you've set up an inventory GUI, quests will appear there automatically. You can also assign the quest to an NPC using Citizens 2 integration, allowing players to receive it through dialogue instead of a menu.
Use the editor to refine difficulty, adjust rewards, or add conditions (like requiring players to stay in a specific WorldGuard region) as you test with your community.
