How to Automate Item Transport with Copper Pipes in Quark Oddities
Copper pipes are the core automation tool in Quark Oddities. They move items from one point to another without redstone or hoppers, and they look clean while doing it.
Setting Up a Basic Pipe Line
Place a copper pipe where you want items to enter. You can feed it by pointing a hopper into it, placing a dispenser facing it, or simply dropping items on top of the pipe. Connect additional pipes in a straight line or bend them around corners by placing them adjacent to each other. At the end of the line, place a chest, barrel, or another container. Items will travel through the pipe and pop out into the first valid inventory they find.
Controlling Where Items Go
Pipes try to find an exit. If a pipe has multiple possible outputs, items may split between them. To force items in one direction, use a copper pipe inside a glass block as a window section so you can see the items moving, and place solid blocks or non-pipe blocks to block unwanted exits. You can also use hoppers to pull items out of a pipe at a specific point.
Practical Uses
Use pipes to move items from a farm into storage, from a quarry into a sorting system, or from a mob grinder into chests. Because pipes accept items from dispensers and hoppers, you can chain them with other redstone components for more complex setups.
