Pv Addon Soundphysics Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Do I need Sound Physics Remastered installed for this to work?
Yes, this addon requires both Plasmo Voice and Sound Physics Remastered to function. Without Sound Physics Remastered, the mod cannot apply its audio effects to voice chat.
Why can't I hear my friend's voice echoing in the cave?
Make sure Sound Physics Remastered is installed and enabled, and that your friend is actually inside the cave when speaking—the echo effect only applies to voices originating from within reverberant spaces. Check that voice chat proximity settings aren't set too low, which could prevent you from hearing distant voices.
How do I make voices sound muffled when someone is behind blocks?
The muffling happens automatically based on the number and type of solid blocks between you and the speaker—no special configuration needed. The more thick blocks in the way, the more muffled the voice becomes.
Can I disable the sound physics effects for voice chat?
Disabling Sound Physics Remastered itself will remove the effects, but there's no separate toggle within the addon. You can adjust how pronounced the effects are through Plasmo Voice's audio settings.
Does this mod work with other voice chat mods?
No, this addon is specifically designed for Plasmo Voice and will not affect voice chat from other mods. It only applies Sound Physics effects to Plasmo Voice audio.
Why do voices sound different in my base versus outside?
Sound Physics Remastered calculates audio behavior based on the surrounding blocks and open space—enclosed rooms create different reverb than open air, and different materials absorb sound differently. This is the intended behavior and makes voice chat location-aware.
Does this affect my microphone input or just what I hear?
This addon only affects what you hear from other players; it doesn't change how your own voice is transmitted. Your microphone input remains unchanged.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The addon adds minimal overhead since it relies on Sound Physics Remastered's existing calculations. Performance impact depends mainly on your Sound Physics settings, not the addon itself.
How do I test if the muffling is working correctly?
Have a friend speak while standing on opposite sides of a thick wall or door, then move them to an open area and compare how their voice sounds. You should notice a clear difference in clarity and volume.
Can I adjust how much the voice gets muffled or echoed?
Fine-tuning is done through Sound Physics Remastered's settings, not the addon itself—adjust parameters like sound absorption and reverb distance in the Sound Physics configuration to change how dramatically voices are affected.
