Using Tools Naturally with Pickaxes and Hoes
Tool Animation Updates
Pickaxes, hoes, shovels, and other tools receive updated animations that look more natural than vanilla Minecraft. When you hold a tool, your hands position realistically around the handle, and the tool itself angles appropriately.
Mining and Digging
When you mine with a pickaxe or dig with a shovel:
- Your arm swings in a full, deliberate motion
- The tool angles downward into the block
- The animation completes before the block breaks
- Repeated mining shows continuous, flowing motions
Farming with Hoes
Hoes animate with a natural tilling motion. Your character swings the hoe in an arc that matches real farming movements, making the action feel purposeful rather than instant.
Item Swaying While Holding Tools
Even when you're not actively using a tool, it sways as you move. Walking with a pickaxe equipped shows realistic momentum shifts, and running causes more pronounced bobbing. This makes tool-carrying feel immersive and grounded.
