Punchy FPA Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

Do I need to do anything to start using Punchy FPA after installing it?
No setup required—the mod activates automatically once installed. Your hands and new animations will appear the moment you load a world and pick up any item or weapon.
Why do my hands look weird or disappear sometimes?
Hands only render when you're holding an item, weapon, or tool. If they vanish unexpectedly, check that your held item hasn't been dropped or that you're not in a state where items can't be displayed (like swimming with empty hands).
Can I use Punchy FPA with Better Combat at the same time?
Yes—the mod includes special compatibility support for Better Combat, so both mods' animations and mechanics will work together without conflicts.
Will my custom resource pack textures still work?
Yes, Punchy FPA is fully compatible with custom resource packs and won't override your textures or visual style.
How do I inspect my sword up close like in the screenshots?
Use the inspect animation feature by holding your sword and triggering the dedicated looking animation—check your mod controls or keybinds to see which key activates this action.
Why does my pickaxe swing feel slow or heavy?
Punchy FPA intentionally adds weight and physics to tool and weapon swings to make them feel more satisfying and impactful; this is the intended behavior and doesn't affect actual mining speed.
Do held items like lanterns actually affect my performance?
The swaying and physics on held items are visual only and shouldn't cause noticeable performance drops, but if you experience lag, try disabling item physics in the mod's config settings.
Can I turn off hand animations if I don't like them?
Most hand and animation features can be toggled in the mod's configuration file; check your config folder for Punchy FPA settings to customize which animations you want enabled.
Why do my hands move differently when I run versus walk?
Punchy FPA includes realistic hand physics that respond to your movement speed and direction, so running, jumping, and walking all produce different hand positions and animations.
Does this mod work in multiplayer servers?
Yes, Punchy FPA is client-side only, meaning it works on any server without requiring the server to have the mod installed—other players won't see your animations, but you will.
