Ptp Mod FAQ
10 questions players actually ask, answered.
Why don't I see the aiming line when I hold my bow?
Make sure you're holding a loaded bow, crossbow, or trident—the line only appears when the item is ready to fire. If you're in multiplayer, the mod must be installed on the server as well as your client, otherwise the prediction won't work.
Does the aiming line work with all throwable items?
The mod works with bows, crossbows, tridents, ender pearls, snowballs, and eggs. Other custom items from other mods may not be supported unless they use vanilla throwing mechanics.
How do I change the color of the aiming line?
Open the settings screen by typing /ptpConfig in chat, then adjust the color and thickness options to your preference. Alternatively, you can edit the configuration file at .minecraft/config/ptp.json manually.
The aiming line is too faint—how do I make it brighter?
Use /ptpConfig to increase the thickness of the line or switch to a brighter color that stands out better against your environment. You can also adjust the settings file directly if you're comfortable editing JSON.
Does the mod account for gravity and drag when predicting shots?
Yes, the mod calculates real game physics including gravity, air resistance, and item speed to show an accurate trajectory prediction.
Can I use this mod in multiplayer?
Yes, but the mod must be installed on both your client and the server. Without it on the server, the trajectory prediction won't function in multiplayer worlds.
Will the aiming line help me throw ender pearls safely across gaps?
Exactly—you can see exactly where your ender pearl will land before you throw it, so you can confirm it will reach the other side of a gap safely.
Does the mod show me where splash potions will land?
Yes, the mod highlights the exact block or area where your splash potion will impact, helping you land it on the right target or group of mobs.
What if I want to turn off the aiming line temporarily?
You can disable the mod's features through /ptpConfig or by toggling it off in your mod settings, though you'll need to check your specific mod loader's configuration options for a quick toggle.
Does the aiming line work with enchanted bows or special arrows?
The mod predicts trajectories based on vanilla physics, so enchantments like Power or Punch don't change where the arrow lands—only the damage it deals. The prediction line will still show you the accurate impact spot.
