Unlock and Use Your First Tool

Check Your Current Level

Press P to open the Customization Menu. This shows your current levels across all skills and displays the level requirements for tools and armor you want to use.

Gain Experience in Your Target Skill

Different tools require different skills:

• Mining tools require Mining skill – break stone, ore, and similar blocks
• Axes require Woodcutting skill – chop wood and logs
• Pickaxes require Mining skill – mine ore and stone
• Shovels require Digging skill – break dirt, sand, and gravel

Continuously perform these actions. You'll see XP notifications appear on screen as you progress.

Equip Your Tool

Once your skill level meets the requirement shown in the Customization Menu, craft or obtain the tool normally. You can now hold and use it without restrictions. If you try to use a tool below your level, you won't be able to break blocks with it.

Track Progress

Keep checking the menu (P key) to see how close you are to unlocking the next tier of equipment. Early progression is fastest when you focus on one skill at a time.
