How to Build a Flat Roof Quickly with Pro Placer
Why Roofs Are Painful Without This Mod
In vanilla Java Edition, holding right-click while walking places blocks with a slight delay, which causes gaps when you move
too fast and double placements when you move too slow. Roofs expose this problem badly because you are usually walking backward or sideways while looking down at an angle.
Step-by-Step Roof Workflow
1. Stand at one edge of the roof area and aim at the block face where the first roof block should attach.
2. Hold right-click and start walking along the row. Because the placement delay is removed,
blocks appear continuously under your cursor with no gaps.
3. Keep the button held as you turn at the corner. The mod locks your placement direction while the button is held, so you will not accidentally place
blocks on the side of an existing block when your crosshair drifts.
4. For the next row, aim at the air block one
level up in the direction you want to extend. Clicking air in the intended direction places the block there, which is ideal for stepping the roof upward without hunting for a solid face.
5. Repeat row by row. If you overshoot, release the button, back up, and re-aim rather than trying to correct mid-swipe.
Tips
- Build from the outside in so you always have a solid edge to aim from.
- In creative mode, the air-click placement lets you lay a whole roof plane without ever touching a side face.
