Pristine Survival Restoration Mod FAQ

10 questions players actually ask, answered.

How do I turn on the mod after installing it?
The mod activates automatically once installed. Explosions in your world will begin restoring based on default settings (creepers, withers, and TNT are repaired by default, while player explosions are ignored). You can customize which explosion sources trigger repairs through the mod's configuration file.
What's the difference between HEAL, EJECT_DROPS, and VISUAL_TOSS modes?
HEAL mode fully restores damaged blocks layer by layer after debris flies outward. EJECT_DROPS removes destroyed blocks permanently but drops roughly one-third of them as items on the ground. VISUAL_TOSS scatters flying pieces for visual effect only—no blocks restore and no items drop.
Will my chests and their items survive explosions?
Yes. The mod preserves all chest and container blocks along with every item stored inside them, so your inventory won't be lost to creeper blasts. This applies to all container types the mod recognizes.
Do trees and plants rebuild correctly after explosions?
Yes. The mod reconstructs full trees including branches and leaf canopies, and it rebuilds delicate plants like vines, cocoa beans, sugar cane, and large mushrooms in their proper forms. It also supports Dynamic Trees if you have that mod installed.
Can I stop player-caused explosions from being repaired?
By default, player explosions are left alone and won't trigger repairs. If you want to change this behavior, you can adjust the configuration settings to include or exclude player-caused blasts.
How do multi-block structures like doors and beds get rebuilt?
The mod rebuilds multi-block items in the correct placement sequence, so doors, beds, and tall plants reassemble properly rather than appearing as broken or misaligned blocks.
Will repairs continue if I restart my game?
Yes. The mod saves active block repairs, so ongoing fixes resume directly after a game restart without losing progress.
Does this mod work on multiplayer servers?
Yes, the mod works in both singleplayer worlds and multiplayer servers, so all players benefit from automated explosion repairs.
Can I choose which types of explosions get repaired?
Yes. You can configure the mod to repair explosions from specific sources like creepers, withers, TNT, or modded mobs, while ignoring others.
Will this mod cause lag or performance issues?
The mod is designed to handle repairs efficiently, but performance depends on your world size, explosion frequency, and hardware. If you experience slowdowns, try limiting which explosion sources trigger repairs or adjusting the restoration speed through configuration.
